Rainbow at Hoober Stand

Views around Wentworth  IV

This painting is a reflective view of Hoober Stand during a short sharp shower.
Hoober Stand is a Fitzwilliam Folly built to the north of the village of Wentworth.
From the top, on a clear day you can see York Minster - well so I'm told.
I have taken shelter amongst the trees around there on many occasions.
Measuring 10" x 6.5" on canvas board, this acrylic painting is #13 of 52.
One a week for a year - enjoy.
(£10)

  2. I have serious issues with heights too - but I did manage this. Hope you pluck up enough courage. x

  3. A fine picture which nicely brings out the colours which I remember from the time I lived in South Yorkshire. There is a tendency to think of it just as a land of grey fields and black clouds, but when the sun gave life to the landscape it could be very beautiful.
