Grace & Flavour - Orchard Street Sheffield

Grace & Flavour

Whether it's a breakfast bite or a lunchtime feast, this is the genuine little sandwich bar
 with the big personal touch.
The girls, J & J will be pleased to take your order.
I walk past G&F most days so just had to paint this cosy little shop.
This acrylic painting measures 10" x 6.5" on canvas board, and is #24 of 52.
One a week for a year.

Old Denaby - South Yorkshire

Old Denaby

Last week's picture Mexborough Ferry Boat Halt is just down the road from Old Denaby.
This picture of Old Denaby was started a few months ago actually while the corn fields were still luscious green, now of course with autumn on the horizon they are now mostly golden brown.
This acrylic painting measures 10" x 6.5" on canvas board, and is #23 of 52.
One a week for a year.

Mexborough Ferry Boat Halt - South Yorkshire

Mexborough FerryBoat

Mexborough Ferry Boat Halt is also a track on the American guitarist Duane Eddy's new Road Trip album - recorded recently with Sheffield's very own Richard Hawley here in South Yorkshire ( check him out on YouTube - you will not be disappointed )
Intrigued with this place name and living a mere 2 miles away from Mexborough
I had to check this location out myself.
Mexborough Ferry Boat Halt used to be a small railway station on the South Yorkshire line between Barnsley and Doncaster, and had connections onto the river Don and the canal
for the movement of industrial goods.
The station closed back in 1871 and there is not much left there to see now.
This recent sketch shows the now footbridge over the line where the station was,
as an EWS Class 66 goods locomotive rolls on by.
This acrylic painting measures 10" x 6.5" on canvas board, and is #22 of 52.
